Align and Flow: Intermediate

This intermediate alignment-based vinyasa class is a refined practice that focuses on proper alignment and biomechanics of the body at a quicker pace. Join Matt Dolezal for a progressive approach to asana will work through a variety of traditional poses skillfully sequenced towards a challenging peak posture with both effort and grace. The aim of this educational class is to tap into the recursive learning process of modern postural yoga, breaking down key components with precision and awareness, while moving with the wisdom of the breath to receive the maximum benefits from a consistent asana practice. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Calm & Centered

Start your week off right with an alignment-based intentional vinyasa with Stacey Swerer. This slow flow class will focus on proper alignment and biomechanics to move through a layer of postures that are skillfully sequenced and have you working towards a peak pose with safety and integrity. Tips and techniques will be offered to refine your personal practice through the shapes and forms of traditional yoga postures. Breathwork and/or meditation may be included. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Functional Yoga

Join Matt for Functional Yoga, an educational class that works through specific regions of the body using proper alignment and functional movement to empower the student’s personal practice with self-care and awareness. The aim of this class is to slow the practice down with the breath to understand the body more mindfully and advance one’s practice at a gradual pace. Similar to a workshop style, this class breaks the practice down with tips and techniques that are invaluable to the practitioner on and off the mat. Take this practice into everyday situations to support quality posture and healthy movements for the longevity of life. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Happy Hips

Join us for this practical, pragmatic and accessible hip opener practice that will focus on the feet, legs, and hips in a well-rounded asana class. Happy hips aims to cultivate knowledge of the hip girdle region of the body and its overall importance to the practice of modern postural yoga. This slow, deep and educational class will offer healthy fluid movements to access more mobility in the pelvis and stabilizing support for the low back. The goal is to understand key movement patterns, basic biomechanics, and a wealth of information to empower oneself on and off the mat with happy hips and a healthy low back. Guided pranayama and meditation will be added at the end of class. *Please bring a blanket, block and strap.

Yoga Playground

Join us for this NEW fun class that will tap into the play of yoga in a safe and dedicated manner. This exploratory practice will be more of a workshop style presentation where we try new things, incorporate more student-teacher collaboration, and reach into the heart of yoga with a playful approach to asana. Classes will be challenging, empowering, and enthusiastic to tap into the spirit of practice with care and intention. Supporting each other along the way through the ups and downs of life, but together we get more skillful at riding the waves. This is truly a practice of making friendships, cultivating a sense of connection, and getting to know each other more fully within the boundaries of poses and play to offer social interaction with more meaning.

Dynamic Flow

In this dynamic strong flow class we will embrace the vinyasa style with breath based movement. The aim of this class is to practice with keen awareness and an energetic presence to link poses skillfully sequenced together in the boundary of the breath. This powerful intermediate practice calls upon ujjayi pranayama, knowledge of poses with proper placement and precision in movement to access your full potential as a student of yoga. Alignment cues will be minimal, but rather tapping into the empowerment of remembrance and deep self-inquiry as a practitioner. Cultivating strength and stability to enliven the spirit of the practice back on the mat with Prana- vitality, energy, power, change and movement. We like to call this style a “GO Practice.”

Class Description

Kaiut Yoga

Kaiut Yoga is a modern take on traditional yoga, addressing our 21st century bodies in a way no other yoga does. Yoga master and doctor of chiropractic Francisco Kaiut developed this method, aiming for a calm nervous system and healthy joints rather than muscles and stretching. You won’t find aggressive movements or impossible poses in a Kaiut class. Instead, you’ll enjoy a personalized form of yoga, which for decades has delivered positive results to people of all ages, body types and fitness levels, including those who are inflexible, hyper-mobile,
or who have a history of injuries.

Yoga Instructor

Pam Novotny

For the past six years I have devoted myself to the practice of Kaiut Yoga. The idea that I might teach it one day grew along with my passion for the Method. At first, Kaiut Yoga was all about healing my ankle after three major surgeries in a single year, which left me barely able to walk. I was practicing Kaiut Yoga at Barn Yoga in Boulder then, and I knew I’d found a special community that was as healing to me as the yoga was.

My first Kaiut Yoga teacher training was with Francisco Kaiut in Boulder in 2020. The second session was scheduled for later that year, but the pandemic showed up. Francisco stayed in his home country of Brazil and taught the next teacher training from Brazil on Zoom to students all over the world –including me. I now have 400+ hours of teacher training in Kaiut Yoga.

My husband and I moved to Fort Collins in 2021 to be closer to family. I had already begun teaching Kaiut Yoga for Barn Yoga Boulder on Zoom and I’ve continued that from Fort Collins. When I found that there were no Kaiut Yoga classes here, I realized I would not only be a teacher, but I’d have to start a business. Redoubling the effort I’d already begun with Francisco Kaiut to become a Kaiut Yoga teacher, Kind Yoga NoCo was born.

I’m excited to introduce Kaiut Yoga to the people of Fort Collins and to share the joy and healing of this method. I also plan to continue studying with Francisco, deepening my understanding of the Method, and honing my skills as a teacher.

Svaroopa® Yoga provides the setting for your body and mind to experience profound openings that compliment each other as you progress in your yoga training. Svaroopa® is for all body types, and you will meet your own body where it is at, as you progress through poses. People of all ages take advantage of this healing style of Hatha Yoga.

Yoga Instructor

Jiva (Jane) Fine – RYT500, CSYT

I go by my Sanskrit name of Jiva (short for Jivani), which means enlivening and vivifying and literally refers to healthy, alive or living. It was given to me by my Guru, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati, who resides at the Ashram in Downingtown, PA.

After I retired from teaching art in Connecticut, I began taking a Svaroopa® Yoga class just to get back into Hatha Yoga, which I had taken years before. Little did I know how very much this style of yoga would do for me! I had a profound change in those every day aches and pains life can throw you, some of which can be serious. I found Svaroopa® Yoga to be healing and rejuvenating for both my body and mind. Experiencing the physical openings made me realize that even more had opened up throughout my whole being. This practice also provided me with an inner transformation to see life in a new way.  I knew I had to share this yoga with others!

I began training in this profoundly healing, science based, style of yoga. I took my first class in November of 2011. Since then I have continued with my training, and am a Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher (CSYT),  and a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, having over 500 hours of training (RYT500).

As a life long learner, I continue with my Svaroop®a Yoga training. I am also certified in a variety of Svaroopa® Yoga therapies, which you can read about under the heading Therapy in the menu bar at the top of my website.

My husband, Marc, and I,  have recently relocated from Connecticut to Fort Collins, Colorado, where I continue to teach Svaroopa® classes, and offer private, one on one therapy sessions, at my home studio.

Event Description

Weekly Women’s Circle Ceremony

Northern Colorado’s premiere weekly women’s sacred circle supports friendships, empowerment, and awakening to our divine feminine. Inspired by the moai friendship groups of Okinawa, weekly events are designed to support equity and support (1) long-term participation, (2) stress reduction, and (3) personal connections. Your community makes a profound difference in your life. Today, humans seem more separated than ever but we can change that together.

Each circle is a ceremony and our circle never closes. We encourage participants to connect outside of our gatherings on a regular schedule to nourish sisterhood. Many Celtic traditions are nature-based. The Celtic Wheel of the Year is never ending. Seasons of the year provide humans with a schedule for introspection. Using nature as a guide, we consider how our lives, our hopes, and dreams. We are connected by place. Meditations honor the land that nourishes us. The elements of Feng Shui help us to connect more deeply with our mother – earth.

Event Facilitator

Amanda Finch

My name is Amanda, and I am working to create a sustainable, affordable, and powerful community of women supporting women in northern Colorado.

What I find missing from most women’s groups is an opportunity for continued connection after the circle ends. I plan to change this by encourage friendship and connection, using regularly scheduled friendship meetups, outside of workshops. I was inspired by the Blue Zone Project, and realize that a true circle of friends has the power to even extend our lives!

My sister circles are ceremonies. Wisdom I have gained as a skilled Feng Shui practitioner and consultant, and of celtic ceremonies, are interwoven into our meetings. This is a non-denominational group. You may find us embracing a culturally diverse array of rituals.

We are connected by place in our circles, therefore how we interact with our land and the seasons of northern Colorado is other a prevailing theme.

These circles are reasonably priced to invite greater equity in our group’s composition. Many ceremonies will involve art, one on one exercises, a unit of inquiry for self reflection, and personal story telling without judgment or cross talk.

Dear sisters, I invite you to drop in. Maiden, Mother, and Crone, we wish to hear your stories, woes, wins, and wisdom together in our ongoing sacred support community.
